After qualifying with a BSc in nursing, Hansa was quickly attracted to the world of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Soon after the establishment of the minimally invasive video capsule unit, Hansa successfully applied for a new role of specialist video capsule endoscopist in 2008. Currently, Hansa is one of a handful of independent European capsule endoscopy nurse specialists. She is a leading teacher and a faculty member teaching video capsule skills at national and European teaching courses. She is one of the few capsule readers fully versed in the emerging area of upper gastrointestinal and colon video capsule examination and is a member of the European video capsule curriculum group.
